There is a channel for the transfer of workers to Western Europe, said Veselin Nalbantov, deputy chairman of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.

Hotels on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast say that seasonal workers from Nepal and Sri Lanka have left their jobs where they have been accommodated with work visas. Low-category workers like dishwashers and janitors with no education who do not speak English use Bulgaria as a springboard. “The people who disappeared left their passports. Perhaps they have been told they do not need documents because it is an illegal channel or they have duplicate documents,” Veseli  Nalbantov said in an interview with Nova TV. “The National Employment Agency must find them immediately and they should be blacklisted,” he said and went on to explain that the persons who have disappeared have Schengen visas.
