A photo exhibition dedicated to renowned Bulgarian basso Boris Christoff opens in Sofia on 28 August. The exposition is organized by Plovdiv municipality’s Culture, Archaeology and Cultural Heritage department, and celebrates the 110th birth anniversary of the legendary opera singer.
In Sofia, the exposition is in Hall No. 3 of the Krasno Selo municipal cultural institute. The exhibition features 41 photographs capturing moments from Boris Christoff’s personal life and career. The archives also include many photographs from his stage performances with the male choir Gusla which still exists and gives concerts to this day. Once a member of the Gusla choir, the celebrated opera singer continued to follow the work of the choir even after he emigrated from Bulgaria, and attended many of their performances abroad. Gusla attended his funeral in Sofia in 1993, and performed some of their emblematic songs.
