A little over 35% of Bulgarian adults have practiced various forms of health tourism in Bulgaria. This was said by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Irena Georgieva, during a congress of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism in Burgas, BTA reported.

According to Georgieva, interest in spa tourism in Bulgaria and abroad is growing.

Leading markets for Bulgaria in this sector are North Macedonia, Romania, Israel, Greece, Germany, Great Britain and others. She added that a challenge for the sector is the staffing problem and that Bulgaria needs a consistent and purposeful policy to solve it.
