Sofia Airport will be the first 5-star regional airport in Europe, says CEO

The project for the construction of Sofia Airport Terminal 3 has been presented

The investment in Sofia Airport's Terminal 3 will set new standards for the industry and travel in Eastern Europe, reports BTA, quoting Jesus Caballero, CEO of Sofia Airport operator. 

Speaking at the presentation of the future Terminal 3, Caballero stressed that this major transformation will be crucial for Bulgaria's economic growth and will position Sofia Airport as the first five-star regional airport in Europe. More than €600 million will be invested during the concession period, of which €250 million will be spent on the construction of the new terminal. This expansion will enable the airport to handle up to 20 million passengers per year.
