In his address on the occasion of the start of the new school year, the Bulgarian president wished all Bulgarian students good health and a very interesting and successful school year. “This day is not included in the official festive calendar of the country yet it is a genuine national feast day,” Rumen Radev said.

Rumen Radev expressed deep gratitude to the teachers for their noble work, for the love and for “their support for the wonderful young generation of Bulgaria”. Stating that this day is most exciting for first graders and for their parents, the Bulgarian president pointed out that “first grade is the most difficult and definitely the most interesting”. Addressing the older students, Rumen Radev wished the older students that they carry Bulgaria in their hearts wherever they may choose to study, work and live. The president also emphasized the important constructive role and support of parents, without whom any efforts in the educational sphere would be void.
