Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation declares bankruptcy

The Bulgarian Weightlifting Federation has filed documents for bankruptcy due to its heavy debts.

Weightlifters Karlos Nasar and Bozhidar Andreev, who won a gold and a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, have been without funding since the beginning of the year. It is not yet clear whether the current situation would prevent them from competing at the world weightlifting championships in Bahrain in early December.

"I will do everything possible to preserve the weightlifting federation," said Karlos Nasar in an interview with BGNES. He added that together with the candidate for new president, Marin Milashki, they were trying everything possible to withdraw the application to the court and have the opportunity to pay part of the debts.
