Public transport employees to host protest against Sofia mayor over unintroduced bonus system

The Federation of Transport Workers at the Confederation of Labour "Podkrepa" is organizing a protest against the capital's mayor, Vasil Terziev, because of a non-observed cooperation agreement from February this year. The document states that this year a bonus system should be introduced in the payment of drivers in the capital's automotive and electric transport.
"We will take the first step - a protest in front of the Sofia Municipality on October 9, after which there will be a stoppage of the public transport," warned the trade unionist. According to him, Vasil Terziev's excuses are that he cannot provide BGN 3.3 million, as much as is needed by the end of the year.

"The mayor and his administration rather want to forward us to 2025 and introduce the system there to replace a possible future increase in basic wages - something that the workers will oppose," Ivan Kirilov said.
