Bulgarian students win 5 medals at an international astrophysics Olympiad

Svetoslav Arabov who studies at the High School Mathematics-Varna won a gold medal at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics- Junior, reported BTA. The competition took place from October 3 to 10 in Kathmandu, Nepal. More than 80 students from 19 countries participated at the Olympiad. 

The Bulgarian team performed exceptionally well and all members returned with medals. Svetoslav Arabov also placed second in the overall ranking. Dobromir Dobrev, Maxim Bosilkov and Tsvetelina Danova from the Sofia High School of Mathematics won silver medals. Anton Stoyanov from the High School of Mathematics-Varna won a bronze medal. The team was led by Eva Bozhurova and Nikola Karavasilev. Arabov's gold medal is his third consecutive gold from international astronomy competitions.
