"The calls to suspend the procedure for the election of the President of the Supreme Administrative Court and the Prosecutor General are a call for the Supreme Judicial Council to violate the Constitution, which is unacceptable," the Supreme Judicial Council said in a statement responding to objections that the body should not proceed with the election of the Prosecutor General and the President of the SAC.
The judges also said that the SJC could not be held responsible for the failure of the judicial reform. They appealed to the institutions not to overstep the limits of their powers, pointing out that "this would boomerang on all of us".

Meanwhile, the deadline for nominations for the presidency of the Supreme Administrative Court begins next week, as the term of the current president, Georgi Cholakov, expires at the end of November this year. Three members of the SAC voted against continuing the procedure.
