Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev: Air quality measuring stations in Sofia provide false data

The air quality measurement stations of Sofia Municipality do not provide accurate information, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev said. According to him, there is a 12 times discrepancy in the data of the municipal stations compared to those of civil organizations, which are more accurate.
The mayor recalled that in the summer the municipality commissioned a leading foreign company to prepare a report on air quality measurement and the result was disappointing. The previous city administration invested about BGN 1 million in a system that does not report accurately, he pointed out, adding that the priority of his administration will be the construction of a network of sensors.

"For this system to work well, two things are necessary - one is to have very precise measuring stations, of which there are only five in Sofia, plus a network of not so expensive and not so precise, but numerous stations, which are all over the city ", Vasil Terziev also said.
