More than two million international tourists are expected to visit Bulgaria in the coming winter season, interim Tourism Minister Evtim Miloshev told Nova TV.

In total, more than 3.2 million foreign visits are expected, including one-day and transit visits. "Throughout the year, the volume of the tourist product, the tourism sector in general, will increase by about 5%," the minister said.

He noted that 2024 was shaping up to be the best year. According to Miloshev, the geography of tourist flows to Bulgaria has changed. First with the war in Ukraine, then with the tensions and conflicts in the Middle East, he said. Mainly Romanian and Polish tourists visit the country, and English tourists are also expected for the winter season, Miloshev said, noting that the main profile of foreign tourists in the country is generally from neighbouring countries.
