The Ministry of the Interior is working on a detailed report on the early parliamentary elections held on 27 October this year. It will include the latest data from the Ministry, the State Agency for National Security (SANS) and the Prosecutor's Office, and will provide a comprehensive account of violations, interim Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov told BNR. Reports of election violations were still coming in a week after the vote, he said.

According to the minister, the Interior Ministry was not a passive observer of the elections, and the organisation of their overall security was thorough. Preventive measures had been taken throughout the country, he said, so the rhetoric did not match the results achieved by the Home Office.

In response to criticism that the Interior Ministry did not disclose the names of parties that bought votes, Atanas Ilkov said that the law did not allow it and that there was no way to leak information unless it was proven that a political party had committed such a violation.
