Several protesters and a police cordon preceded the third performance of ''Arms and the Man''

Few protesters and a single placard reading "Shame" marked the third performance of "Arms and the Man" at the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, Directed by John Malkovich. There was increased police presence around the theatre last night because of the incidents on Thursday and the protests and the counter-protests that took place on Friday. The audience, including John Malkovich, entered the building undisturbed to watch the performance, passing through a dense corridor of police officers.

"This is a shame because they are performing a play by a Stalinist and communist. I have a ticket. I told them I was going to leave the placard, but they didn’t let me in", said the person holding the protest banner.

"I bought the tickets because of John Malkovich, not because of the play and what it's about. It turns out we are witnessing something historical. Everyone has the right to stage any type of play. Freedom in art is probably the most important thing", said one of the spectators.
