Winter wonderland in many parts of Bulgaria.
Road surfaces in most parts of the country are wet, with rain instead of snow in some parts.
In the regions where there is snow, and on higher ground, road surfaces have been processed for traffic in winter conditions, the Road Infrastructure Agency has announced.
The regional road administrations stand in readiness to take the necessary action to process the roads in the high-mountain regions and mountain passes where there exist conditions conducive to the formation of frost making road surfaces slippery, the announcement reads.
Drivers are urged to take to the road with vehicles ready for winter conditions, to drive with caution and at an appropriate speed, keep the necessary distance and refrain from abrupt maneuvers.
Members of the public and transport companies can obtain more information about the current weather conditions and the winter maintenance of the national road network from the website of the Road Infrastructure Agency www.api.bg or dial 0700 130 20 - 24/7.
