GERB says it will only hold negotiations with the participation of party leaders on the formation of a cabinet

There will only be negotiations among party leaders if they are for the formation of a ruling majority and a regular government,” GERB party declared at a briefing after a meeting of GERB’s executive commission, in regard to a possible meeting with We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB).

At the briefing, GERB leader Boyko Borissov stated he had personally called General Atanas Atanasov and Ivaylo Mirchev from Democratic Bulgaria, with the proposal for Atanasov to be nominated for parliamentary speaker. Borissov added that during the conversation, he had called for a responsible approach, and that is why he made the compromise for the president of the National Assembly to be the nomination of We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB). As regards the post of prime minister, Boyko Borissov said he could not back down and insisted on himself as prime minister.
