The Prosecutor's College allowed Sarafov to a hearing before the Supreme Judicial Council's Plenum

The Prosecutor's College of the Supreme Judicial Council approved the reports of the Commission on Attestation and Competitions and the Commission for Professional Ethics regarding the candidacy of Borislav Sarafov for Chief Prosecutor, reported BTA.

According to the chairman of Commission on Attestation and Competitions, Ognyan Damanov, Borislav Sarafov has proven administrative skills, possesses high professional qualities and fully meets all the requirements. The Chairman of the Ethics Commission, Georgi Kuzmanov, pointed out that Sarafov observes a high ethical standard, has extensive experience, and is guided by a high standard of law.

The vote was unanimous, with eight votes in favor, and Sarafov was admitted to the hearing scheduled for January 16. He is currently the Acting Prosecutor General, after the mandate of his predecessor Ivan Geshev was terminated early by the Supreme Judicial Council.
