North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timčo Mucunski was heard in the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee. He said that some of his fondest memories are from Bulgaria, but accused Sofia of stalling Skopje’s European integration.

MEPs from all political groups and from Bulgaria pointed out that Skopje is not respecting agreements with its neighbours. Among them is the Treaty of Friendship, Good-Neighbourliness and Cooperation, according to which Bulgarians must be listed as a state-forming ethnic group in the preamble of the North Macedonian constitution in order for Skopje to start negotiations for EU Membership.

In his answers, Minister Mucunski refused to say when the Bulgarians would be included in the North Macedonian constitution and when the construction of the railway Corridor No. 8 will be accelerated, BTA and BGNES report.
