In the period January - September 2024, exports of goods from Bulgaria to the EU decreased by 3.6% compared to a year earlier and amounted to 20.895 billion euros. The main trading partners are Germany, Romania, Italy, Greece and France, which account for 62.2 percent of exports to the EU, according to data from the National Statistical Institute. Compared to 2022, the decline in exports to the EU was 7.3%.
Imports of goods to Bulgaria from the EU from January to September 2024 declined by 5.4% compared to the same period in 2023 and amounted to 21 billion euros. The largest imports were from Germany, Romania, Italy, Greece and Poland.
Imports of goods to Bulgaria from third countries during the period January - October 2024 increased by 7.1% compared to 2023 and reached 17.865 billion euros. The largest imports are from Turkey, China, Ukraine and Serbia. During the period January - October 2024, exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 3.9% compared to 2023 and amounted to 13 billion euros. Bulgaria's export are mainly to Turkey, the USA and Serbia.
