The ski area in Bansko is already working. The official opening of the winter season in the resort is on December 14, the concessionaire of the ski area announced. Thanks to the abundant snow cover, the ski season starts earlier this year. The runs are open, with the exception of Chalin Valog and the ski road to Bansko.

The opening is with the participation of Austrian legend in alpine skiing Mihael Walchhofer. He opens the season in Bansko for the second time, after 2011. The opening will also be attended by the five-time World Cup overall champion Marc Girardelli. The two will face each other in the "Join the Champion's Team" competition, which guarantees prizes for registered skiers. After the competition, there will be a "Treasure Hunters" game with a large prize, as well as many more games and prizes, the organizers inform.
