Bulgaria should focus on adopting a budget that will help it enter the eurozone, International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva told Nova TV. According to her, the country is on its way to solving the problem of higher inflation. The forecast is for inflation to reach 2.6% in 2025. It is currently 2.8%.
"But if we decide to spend more than we have, a budget deficit would emerge and entry will be postponed. We have postponed it several times already, it is time to tell ourselves that we are bringing this work to the end, as happened with Schengen," Georgieva said. "Be careful, let's be more realistic. Yes, maybe revenues will increase. Let's not forget that we want to increase them with one-time actions, not with a systematic policy far raising revenues," she warned.
