Institute of Market Economics: Тhere will be no apocalypse if 2025 budget is not adopted

The state will continue to function normally even without the parliament voting on the state budget, according to an analysis by the Institute for Market Economics (IME) called "Without a Budget for 2025 and Without an Extension Law: What Next?".

The IME believes that, contrary to the apocalyptic pictures that are drawn in this scenario, the structural laws of the three major budgets in the state provide for such an option.

The amount of the main payments is preserved and, according to the rules for fiscal stability, the payments will be up to the amount of revenues, which will nominally increase.

"If the legal framework allows an immediate budget crisis to be avoided, then entering the new year without an adopted budget creates risks for the predictability of the business environment, for the economy as a whole and for the normal functioning of institutions and local authorities," the IME specifies.
