Ten babies have been born in the past year under the donor program of Sofia Municipality to support families with reproductive problems. Among them there are two pairs of twins.

Baby Mihaela took its first breath yesterday. Her parents received financial assistance for in vitro fertilization procedures. They are grateful to everyone who helped them hold in their hands the long-awaited and beautiful Christmas gift.

Nearly 400 couples have submitted applications and 55 children have been born since the start of the program in December 2015. Seven new applications are yet to be considered.

The in vitro program of the Sofia Municipality is the only one supporting couples in need of donor eggs. It was established in collaboration with the foundations “Mothers for Donation” and “I Want a Baby”. The maximum support granted to a couple is 3,620 BGN (EUR 1,850).
