Yellow, brown alert code for rain, snow declared for 16 regions in Bulgaria for Thursday

On Thursday the weather will be cloudy. Precipitation will continue and will be significant in Central Northern Bulgaria, where snow will fall. Snow will also fall in the high valley fields in Western Bulgaria and the Western Fore-Balkans. In the Rhodope region and North-Eastern Bulgaria by the evening the rain will turn into snow. After lunch from the west the precipitation will start to stop. It will be windy with moderate to strong winds from the north-northwest. 

Minimum temperatures will be between minus 1 and 4°C, in Sofia around minus 1°C. Maximum temperatures ​​will be between 1 and 6°C, in the capital Sofia - around 1°C.

In the mountains it will be cloudy, foggy and with snowfall. There will be strong and stormy winds from the east-northeast on the ridges. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be minus 3°C, at 2,000 m. - around minus 5°C.

Along the Black Sea coast it will be cloudy, rainy and windy. There will be a moderate and strong wind from the north-northeast. Maximum temperatures will be from 6 to 10°. Sea water is 10-11°. Sea waves will be up to the stormy 4-5 points.

On Friday, there will be more precipitation, mainly snowfall, but they will weaken and decrease in scope.

In the Balkans, it will remain windy, cloudy with snow and rainfall, in the coastal areas - only rain. It will be relatively cold and almost without precipitation in the northwestern regions.

In Athens it will be 13°, in Bucharest 8°, in Belgrade 3°, in Istanbul it will be 12°.
