The municipalities of Troyan, Teteven, Lovech, Apriltsi and Samokov are experiencing problems with electricity supply for the third day. The most common cause of the outages are trees that have fallen on power lines because of the heavy snow.

Nearly 90 settlements in western Bulgaria are without power. "The crews are working in very harsh winter conditions, in rough terrain and low temperatures. There are fallen trees, strong winds, impassable roads in the mountain areas and in the smaller settlements," said Ralitsa Nikolova from the company "Electrohold".
According to her, the situation is dynamic, the number of settlements without electricity is changing and the work will continue until the power supply is fully restored.
