The people left without electricity should file complaints to the electricity distribution companies, said Consumer Protection Commission chair Maria Filipova in a statement to the media.
The people affected by the outages should also turn to consumer organizations when filing a collective action for compensations. Under the current legislation and powers, the Commission cannot assist consumers for a speedier restoration of the power supply. “There will be a collective action lawsuit against the electricity distribution company, parallel with that we shall demand compensation from the state,” the mayor of Lovech Stratsimir Petkov said for the BNR.
In 12 villages in the municipality there are still more than 150 households without electricity, Stratsimir Petkov said further.
According to information by the electricity distribution company Electrohold, there are still villages and hamlets in the municipalities of Troyan, Teteven and Ougurchin, and Apriltsi where the outage continues.
