Vanya Stefanova еlected Deputy Prosecutor General

At the request of acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov, the Prosecutors' College of the Supreme Judicial Council unanimously elected Vanya Stefanova as Deputy Prosecutor General. That is how Sarafov's deputies are now two. 

Elena Karakasheva, who was previously a judge at the Supreme Court of Cassation, has also held this position for a year. Before that, Maria Pavlova was also Deputy Prosecutor General, but she has been the acting Minister of Justice for months. Stefanova is the head of the first "Specialized" department at the Supreme Prosecutor's Office. She was also the Deputy Chair of the State Agency for National Security. 

The first meeting of the Prosecutors' College of the year lasted about 5 minutes and there were no comments on the criticisms regarding the procedure and the nomination of Sarafov as the new Prosecutor General. The election is scheduled for January 16.
