Milena Todorova achieved the biggest success for the Bulgarian women's biathlon in over two decades after finishing third in the 7.5 km sprint at the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof, Germany. The 26-year-old athlete from Troyan, who returned to the track after maternity, hit 9 of the 10 targets despite strong winds and fog.

Todorova finished 35 seconds behind winner Paula Botet from France and 3.9 seconds behind Norwegian Maren Kirkeeide. This marks Milena's first World Cup podium. On January 18 she will turn 27. In December, Milena Todorova finished tenth in the sprint at Hochfilzen.

Milena also has an excellent position for the 10km pursuit on Saturday. She will start third, 35 seconds behind Paula Botet and 6 seconds ahead of French star Justine Braisaz-Bouchet.
