Snow and lower temperatures expected on Sunday

On Saturday night, the weather situation in the country will deteriorate. There will be snowfall in Southern Bulgaria, the Pre-Balkans and the Ludogorie region. Significant precipitation is expected in Southwestern Bulgaria and the southern slopes of the Rhodope Mountains. During the day, moderate northerly and northwesterly winds will bring colder air in the Danubian Plain. In the mountains, there will be conditions for blizzards and drifting snow. The lowest temperatures will range from minus 1°C to 4°C, around 0°C in Sofia.

In the mountains, it will be cloudy and windy, with snow showers. Significant snowfall is expected in the massifs in Western Bulgaria and the Rila-Rhodope region. There will be moderate to strong westerly and northwesterly winds. A new snow cover will form. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 m will be minus 2°C, at 2,000 m- around minus 5°C.

On the Black Sea coast, it will be cloudy with rain and snow. Maximum temperatures will range from 3°C to 5°C. The seawater temperature is 8°C -11°C. Sea swell 1-2.

On Monday, the weather will remain cloudy with snowfall in Southern Bulgaria. Temperatures will remain almost unchanged, ranging from minus 3°C to 2°C. On Tuesday, the precipitation will stop.
