Bulgaria’s Ministry of Foreign affairs advised Bulgarian citizens to avoid travelling to the Democratic Republic of Congo, especially to the eastern parts of the country, including the city of Goma in North Kivu Province and the city of Bukavu in South Kivu Province. The reason is the offensive of the rebel armed group March 23 Movement (M23) which took control over the city of Goma, as well as the danger of further escalation of the conflict, reads a message of the Foreign Ministry's Situation Center. If necessary, Bulgarian citizens can contact the Bulgarian Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria.
No Bulgarian citizens have been reported injured during the protests in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
