An exceptional festival as always, but what is especially remarkable for the 29th edition is the presence of Bulgarian cinema. Out of about 180-200 films in the program - feature-length and short, about 60 titles are Bulgarian. This was what the director of the Sofia International Film Festival, Stefan Kitanov, said at a special press conference.
"Something like this has never happened within the framework of the festival in its entire history, which means that Bulgarian cinema not only exists, but is also present at an international festival in Bulgaria and around the world," Kitanov added. There are nearly 50 premieres of Bulgarian films, the festival director also said. "As always, from March 13 to 31, the best of world cinema will be presented in Sofia," Kitanov pointed out.
