We do not expect there to be any significant changes in the expenditure section of the budget for 2025, but the capital programme will be amended, Petar Mishev from the Institute for Social and Trade Union Research at the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) said for the BNR.
It is possible to make the budget work with a 3% deficit, he said, and added that the trade union will not back down from its demand for a 10% raise in salaries. “That is a necessary step. In the long term we need to find a way for the increase in incomes to outpace the inflation rate, even if it is minimally,” Petar Mishev said.
