A priority in the system of education is a better quality of education at university by way of a higher motivation of the students and the lecturers. The requirements in the appraisal of their work and their academic development will be higher.

In a press release, the Council of Rectors points out that there is agreement on these objectives with Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev. Attracting foreign students, exporting Bulgarian higher education and raising scholarships are other key objectives which the Council and the minister will set down in the government programme. Efforts will also focus on developing dual education in higher educational establishments, as well as sharing resources among universities.
