A hearing of the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Energy, Environmentand Water, Agriculture and Food, and the Director of the National Electricity Company (NEK), has been included in the agenda of Bulgaria’s Parliament for February 12 at the proposal of Vazrazhdane. The hearing will focus on the current procedures and actions taken by the government to protect Bulgaria's national interest in connection with Greece's intention to sign a long-term commercial agreement with Bulgaria for water supply from the Arda River for the needs of Greek farmers.

Vazrazhdane claims that NEK, without having the right to do so, signed an agreement not with the Greek state but with the region of Macedonia and Thrace to continue the water supply until the end of summer. ''This means that tens of millions of cubic meters of water have been given to Greece for free'', said the leader of Vazrazhdane, Kostadin Kostadinov.
