The agriculture sector in Bulgaria maintains its stability, providing employment to 6% of the population and forming about 4% of the country's GDP. This is shown by current data on the state of the sector, presented by the Minister of Agriculture Georgi Tahov at the official opening of the 10th Megaforum for Agribusiness, Wine, Food and Equipment in Plovdiv.

Investments in the Agriculture sector reach over 2.2 billion leva /over 1.1 billion euros/ per year, which is about 7-8% of investments in the country's economy.

Agriculture Minister Tahov promised that through legislative initiatives and strategic interventions a favorable environment for the development of the sector will be created, which will support the competitiveness of Bulgarian agriculture.

620 companies from 25 countries participate in the exhibition, and visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with innovations in plant breeding, animal husbandry, the wine industry and the food industry.
