The MPs from the 51st National Assembly adopted a declaration on non-participation of Bulgarian troops in military activities on the territory of Ukraine. 166 voted “for”, 27 “against”, 11 abstained.
The declaration was supported by all parliamentary groups, with the exception of Vazrazhdane; MECH party and 1 MP from We Continue the Change/Democratic Bulgaria (PP/DB) abstained.
The declaration calls for attaining lasting and just peace in Ukraine, and a process of negotiations involving all sides affected and interested in establishing and preserving security and stability in Europe, including Bulgaria.
Parliament calls on the Council of Ministers to continue the pursuit of the policy of the Republic of Bulgaria towards a peaceful settlement of international conflicts by diplomatic means and to promote initiatives aimed at finding lasting peaceful solutions.
