The Ministry of Interior is performing well. There has been an increase in the amount of seized drugs and human traffickers caught at the Schengen borders, Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov said in response to a journalist's question about how the Interior Ministry is handling inspections in the interior of the country after the removal of border controls following Bulgaria's entry into Schengen. According to him, the Bulgarian-Turkish border is one of the best-protected external borders of the EU.

Border Police Director Anton Zlatanov pointed out that very strict police control is being carried out in the 30-kilometer border zone with Greece and Romania. "On every road leading to and from our neighboring countries, we have a presence and conduct checks", said Anton Zlatanov. Our priority is to prevent the shift of migrant pressure to the Bulgarian-Greek border, Chief Commissioner Zlatanov said further. Daniel Mitov and Anton Zlatanov presented today 52 new vans for the Border Police.
