The effects of the protests against supermarkets are being felt, Agriculture Minister Georgi Tahov said in Plovdiv, where he was attending a national meeting of fruit and vegetable producers. He added that there had already been a drop in the price of basic foodstuffs.

Today, for the third time, citizens are boycotting supermarkets. Today's boycott also included refraining from bank transactions because of high fees.
Georgi Tahov said that the draft law on price regulation in supermarket chains would be ready in ten days and would be presented to all interested parties.

The minister also commented on the likelihood that Bulgaria might not receive its second payment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, saying that the agricultural sector was the only one that had fully met all the targets and indicators set.
