The USA is among Bulgaria's leading foreign trade partners, the US market is among the main export destinations for Bulgarian high-tech products. This was announced by the Minister of Economy and Industry, Petar Dilov, at the opening of the Explore U.S. conference, organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria and the Executive Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, with the support of the US Embassy in Sofia.

Dilov noted that for the period January-October 2024 alone, Bulgaria's trade with the US amounted to 1.4 billion USD, with Bulgaria having a positive trade balance in the trade between the two countries. He pointed out that Bulgarian exports for the first ten months of 2024 were slightly over 1 billion USD, according to statistics. In his words, given the scale of the US economy, Bulgaria and the US can do more to stimulate joint activities and bilateral trade.

Dilov pointed out that Bulgarian companies produce high-tech products in the fields of electronics, cybersecurity, optical systems and ammunition, and have the potential to engage in joint projects, scientific developments and production processes.
