Rumen Radev: Support for Ukraine is a losing position, a peaceful way out of the crisis must be sought

Support for Ukraine is a losing position, President Rumen Radev said regarding the position of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov after the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which ended with a scandal. “Ukraine, be brave, be strong. We stand by you,” Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov wrote on the social network X.

According to President Radev, Europe must find its place in the new reality as soon as possible. This means seeking a peaceful way out of the crisis and proceeding to a ceasefire agreement. “There is already political will at the highest level in the US and Russia. I expect European leaders to be much more adequate to reality,” he said.

Rumen Radev also said that yesterday's meeting between Trump and Zelensky was a clash between two approaches to finding a solution to this war:

“The one expressed by President Trump – for an immediate end to the senseless bloodshed and the search for paths to peace through intensified diplomacy. And the other – the continuation of the war at any cost, regardless of the victims and destruction, with open attempts to involve NATO in the war and the risk of a third world war. Unfortunately, many European politicians still cannot get out of the narrow ideological framework and realize the true nature of this war.”

According to GERB leader Boyko Borissov, any attempt to divide Europe makes us all weaker. That is why he launched the idea of an immediate summit meeting between the United States, European countries and allies, at which all points of view would be put on the table.
