For the first time in the 35-year history of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and the Republic of Korea, the city hall building was illuminated in the colours of the Bulgarian national flag on the Bulgarian National Day of March 3. This was made possible with the support of the city hall of the multi-million South Korean capital, BTA reported.

At the initiative of the Bulgarian Embassy in Seoul, the light show lasted two hours.

In addition, the futuristic floating islands Some Gavit in Seoul, emblematic of the South Korean capital, next to the Banpo Bridge on the Han River (also known as Hangang), also shone in the colors of the Bulgarian flag.
