A protest under the slogan "Feminism, not Militarism" started this afternoon in front of the Court House in Sofia. "On March 8 we are not celebrating. On 8 March we demand justice, equality and freedom! On 8 March we are together - against patriarchal violence, against economic exploitation, against war and repression" is the motto of the organisers - feminists and civil society organisations.
The demonstration will later turn into a march through the main streets of the capital. The organisers are calling for more effective measures against domestic violence, equality in the workplace, economic justice and access to quality social services.
