Virtuosos perform in the jubilee edition of the European Music Festival in Sofia

Three prominent European orchestras will be special guest performers at the 25th European Music Festival in Sofia.

The festival opens on 12 March, and features 19 events divided into a spring and an autumn segment. The diverse programme will feature performances by musicians of world renown: The Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra with director and soloist Sergej Krylov, the Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestra with artistic director Radoslav Schultz and the Wrocław Baroque Orchestra – one of the top orchestras specialized in authentic performance practices for the period.

Israeli violinist Vadim Gluzman will perform in the first concert from the Stradivarius Collection cycle – a new and original initiative by the festival team featuring virtuoso performances by musicians who have earned the privilege of playing these invaluable instruments.

The official start of the festival will be given on 12 April by the outstanding Bulgarian artists Krassimira Stoyanova, soprano and Ludmil Angelov, piano who will perform vocal masterpieces by Richard Wagner, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss.

The series of diverse events will continue with a master class by the renowned violinist and pedagogue of Bulgarian origin, and professor at the Academy of the Arts in Bern, Switzerland Philip Draganov.
