The mission of middle powers is to play an increasingly important role in global affairs and to help shape a new multilateralism based on collective action to address global challenges. This was the key message of Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev at the 12th Global Forum in Baku.

He emphasised that the EU-US transatlantic partnership is enduring and based on a community of values shared by all mankind. "This strategic partnership, which has shaped global peace, stability and prosperity since the end of World War II, is as necessary as ever. Europe and the EU must continue to engage constructively and strategically with the US administration," Georgiev stated.

He also highlighted Bulgaria's support for President Donald Trump's firm stance against Russian aggression in Ukraine and for a negotiated solution to the conflict.
