Georgi Kuzmov, who was removed from his position as mayor of the Sofia district of Oborishte, is returning to his post after winning the new elections with nearly 70% of the votes. At the end of last year, the Supreme Administrative Court terminated his powers following a report that he was a partner in two companies.

On his Facebook page, Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev congratulated Kuzmov on his victory. ''We lost months in the development of one of the emblematic districts of Sofia because of GERB and their associates, who unlawfully removed Kuzmov from his position. The district mayors of Slatina, Georgi Iliev, and Iskar, Yasen Rusev, were removed in the same unlawful manner. They will return in the same impressive manner!
I address the parties that unlawfully removed the district mayors: Stop hindering and start working for the city. Your own voters will thank you as well'', Vasil Terziev wrote.
