The Ruse-Veliko Tarnovo highway is an extremely important project of national importance, which has significance beyond the borders of Bulgaria as a vertical corridor from Greece to Romania, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said at the beginning of the government meeting. He called on the opposition from "We Continue the Change" party to provide the prosecutor's office with the data it claims to have and which indicate that there was corruption in the order announced by the government for the construction of the route.

The entire process of construction of the section of the highway from Byala to Veliko Tarnovo will be absolutely transparent and anyone who wishes can give their expert assessment, Minister of Regional Development Ivan Ivanov said.
