In drafting this bill we are guided solely by this aim,” said Minister of Agriculture and Food Georgi Tahov at a meeting with representatives of chain stores in this country and consumer organizations, at which he acquainted them with the idea underlying the draft of a bill on the supply chain of farming produce and food.

The bill is not finalized, and in its finalization the Ministry of Agriculture will take all viewpoints into account, Minister Tahov said further. Feedback will be expected until the end of next week. Minister Tahov also announced a cooperatives act was being considered, via which the state will provide an association and cooperation environment to farmers which will strengthen their positions during institutional and trade talks.
