On the initiative of Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger is visiting Bulgaria to look for cooperation projects with the Bulgarian defence industry and scientific community. In a meeting with the CEO of Europe's largest defence group, the head of state stressed that it was high time for EU countries to overcome the strong fragmentation of the European defence industry and focus on cooperation in the development and production of defence products.

"The Bulgarian defence industry has a wealth of experience and a well-established place on the world markets," emphasised Rumen Radev. Armin Papperger expressed Rheinmetall's ambition to build a lasting partnership with Bulgaria and the Bulgarian business community, highlighting the country's experience in the production of ammunition and armaments. The CEO of the German defence group also voiced his hope that the company's investments in Bulgaria would soon be realized.
