Victims of the Kocani nightclub fire admitted to Pirogov are improving

All eight patients seriously injured in the fire at a nightclub in North Macedonia's town of Kocani, who are being treated at Pirogov Hospital, have already been extubated. 
According to the hospital director, Dr. Valentin Dimitrov, some of them are wearing oxygen masks due to the severe damage that affected the upper and lower respiratory tracts when inhaling harmful substances.


The fire at the Kocani nightclub killed 59 people and injured over 150, with 14 of the victims being transported for treatment in Bulgaria. Eight patients were admitted to Pirogov Hospital.

Today, nine of the victims will be returned to the country, including three from Hungary, two from Italy and one each from Greece, Serbia and Sweden. 91 victims remain receiving treatment abroad
