More than 7,000 people from non-EU countries are looking for work in Bulgaria

From the beginning of the year until March 10, the Employment Agency received more than 7,000 applications for access of citizens from non-EU countries to the Bulgarian labor market, a written response of the Minister of Social Affairs Borislav Gutsanov to GERB MP Denitsa Sacheva, reveals.

“The campaign for processing documents is in peak phase considering the upcoming summer tourist season”, the minister said. Over 560 declarations from employers have been processed and more than 4,200 citizens from third countries have been registered for seasonal employment.

Those wishing to work in Bulgaria are interested in several sectors – Hotels and Restaurants, Construction, Manufacturing, Information and Communication Technologies and Transport.

For the past 6 years, the Employment Agency has issued permits for access to the Bulgarian labor market to over 108 thousand workers and specialists from 65 countries.
