Interior minister orders nationwide inspection of dangerous road sections

Against the background of protests in different towns across the country against the “war on the roads”, the poor condition of roads, corruption in public procurement and flawed road repairs, Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov has ordered a comprehensive inspection of the state of dangerous road sections on the entire territory of the country.  

Next week, Minister Mitov will present, to PM Rosen Zhelyazkov, proposals for comprehensive measures aimed at improving road safety. Today and tomorrow unmarked vehicles with plain clothes Criminal Police officers will be on the lookout for road safety violations roads around the country. Aggressive car and truck drivers who pose a risk to others on the road will be removed from the traffic and will be sanctioned.
